light of my life

:: one month old ::

Sweet Levi. You are the light of my life. You would not believe how much your daddy and I have fallen in love with you! We thought we were absolutely in love with you while you were in my tummy… but now that you’re out in the world and able to interact with us… we’re absolutely blown away by how much you have invaded our hearts. Although we’ve heard it from other parents, nothing could really prepare us for how we’d feel about you. There is literally nothing you could do to make us love you any more (or any less for that matter). You are absolutely perfect to us!

It’s amazing how much my world has changed in the last few weeks. There’s lots of adjusting to do for us now that you’re in our lives. BUT, we wouldn’t want it any other way. We’re learning lots about how to best care for you and look after you and love you. And it’s obvious you’re learning lots too. Every day you grow bigger and bigger, and every day you are more alert and seem to comprehend more. It’s so fun to see you grow and develop.

You’re holding your head up all the time like a big shot 3-month-old :) and you even rolled over from your belly to your back at only 12 days old! You’re a strong, active little guy – that’s for sure!

We’ve also been enjoying watching you while in your little “baby gym”. You lay under it, listen to the jungle sounds (crickets and frogs and birds), and box and swing at the mirror and other toys. We think it’s so adorable! And you’ve grown to love your bath-times too. You lie in the warm water and just watch me with big eyes as I wash you and play with you. One day soon you’ll be slashing around in there and making me all wet too. You are so ridiculously cute my son!

You’ve been sleeping really well at night and mommy’s grateful for that! You usually sleep around five hours, have a feed, and then sleep for another three hours. That means that I’m getting more sleep than most mommies of newborns… and I’m so grateful little man! You are a champion.

Well my boy, we love you heaps and we thank you for bringing such joy to our lives.

A million kisses,
love momma xxxxxxxxx
